Pitsford Water continues to provide excellent sport and is producing great catches to floating lines and nymph tactics. Muskins, diawls and buzzer have caught extremely well. The main basin and dam area are best and although nymph tactics are working, fish will also be caught on sunk line methods.
Simon Lehane and Gavin Layton fished sunk lines on Friday and caught over 40 fish using tubes and snakes on Di7 lines.
Lots of Rainbows have been reported in the 3-4lb bracket. The best Brown of the week weighed 4lb 8oz and was caught by Jim Lea.
James Stuart took his son Even, aged eight, out on a boat. Evan managed a Rainbow of 2lb 6oz and lost another, beating his dad who did not get a fish. Well done Evan – top angling young man!
A group of six anglers from Wales enjoyed a 3 day boat package at our waters this week, visiting Pitsford on Friday and had a great day with a Brown to 6½lb.
The forecast for the coming week is showing cooler weather with the chance of rain for the weekend which should cool the water.
