Are you open all week?

Yes, we are open 7 days a week, 364 days a year (Closed on Christmas Day). Please refer the individual park pages for the opening times of the park cafes, visitor centres, fishing lodges and watersports centres.

Can I bring a BBQ?

Yes you can bring a gas or charcoal barbeque. Please make sure all disposable barbeques are raised off the ground whilst being used. Please also ensure they have cooled down and are removed from the park once used. Please take your litter home with you or use the bins provided. Please do not use a barbeque in Woodland, long grass or in a nature reserve. If you need any advice please ask a member of Park staff.

Can I fly a drone?

In the interests of public safety drones are not permitted on any Anglian Water Park without the prior written consent by Anglian Water Services Ltd.

Can I hire a power boat?

Power boats are hired to anglers only. They are also used by Anglian Water employees to provide water safety.

Can I launch my canoe, kayak or sup?

Kayaks, canoes and sups can be launched from Rutland and Alton via the on site Watersports Centres. For more information please contact either Rutland or Alton Watersports Centre. Watercraft can not be launched at Grafham Water, Pitsford Water, Ravensthorpe, Hollowell or Taverham Mill.

Can I launch my own dingy or sailing boat?

Launching is permitted from Rutland or Alton Watersports Centres. Launching is permitted only when the Rutland or Alton Watersports centre is open and within the last launch time. Pop into reception to pay a day launch fee, ‘Sign On’ to the water and grab a safety wristband. Note that you must hold adequate third party insurance for your craft. Please be aware that visitors are not permitted to launch their own inflatable kayaks, canoes or boats.

Can I swim in the water?

Swimming is only permitted in designated areas and during Anglian Water consented events. The permitted swimming area is at Rutland Water Beach, Sykes Lane. For safety reasons please observe the opening times, any warning signs/flags and abide by instructions by staff. We also hold weekly open water swimming training sessions at Rutland Water. There are currently no designated swimming areas at Grafham Water, Pitsford Water, Alton Water, Ravensthorpe, Taverham Mill and Hollowell.
