Pitsford Water Week Ending 28th May 2023

Fish week 280 (Season 4393) Returns 41 (436) Rod average 6.8 (10.1)

The fishing has become a little more challenging for some this week but if you are fishing the right methods there are still lots of fish to be had.

The buzzer sport has slowed but replace the buzzers with Diawls or Crunchers and the fish will still happily take with Floating or Midge Tip lines still being the favoured lines. Fish with a fab or small booby on the point even in bright sun as the fish are in the top 3-4 feet.

This week has seen the Pines come to life with some nice fish coming from this area. The prevailing Northerly wind has seen the bank fish best from Gorse all the way along to Brixworth bay with fish feeding close in on Shrimp so Hares ear patterns have caught well. Other areas worth a try are Sailing club bank and bay, Northfields and Pig stream.

Although most are fishing high in the water for those who want to search the depths then Black or Green snakes and Humungus lures fished on sunk lines will still get a reaction as the fish are happy to chase. If conditions go overcast we have even had some success on dries with cdc’s and small foam daddies both taking fish.

The Tuesday evening boat club is on again with anglers last week having good evening sport with a couple of anglers having 6 fish and most catching.
