Grafham has continued to fish fantastically well throughout the past week. And this is backed up by a weekly Rod Average of 9.8!

The area to the left of the lodge has been prolific and seen plenty of anglers bagging up from both the bank and boat. Buzzers fished deep and slow has been the standout method for many of our regulars, but good bags of fish are also being taken on all manner of lures fished at various depths. Savages creek is also fishing incredibly well and the North shore is again starting to pick up and produce plenty of action.

Bank fishing has been good with plenty of fishing coming from the seat, g buoy, Plummers and particularly sanctuary bay. This is backed up by multiple anglers reporting double figures for the day with fish up to 4lb. The Harbour arms are worth a cast or two and we have seen plenty of fishing moving amongst the boats, particularly first thing in the morning, before the anglers arrive.

Saturday gone saw Grafham host the Snowbee floating lines match. 88 Anglers took to the water full of anticipation for the day ahead. Although the fishing proved to be trickier than days previous, it didn't take long for the anglers to figure out what was needed on the day. The match was eventually won by Snowbee guests with 32 fish for 93lb 1oz. Best bag of the day weighed in at 27lb 14oz and Best fish went 3lb 8oz.

With the abundance of buzzers now hatching all around the reservoir we expect the excellent fishing to continue into the week ahead, and we wouldn't be surprised to see the Rod average climb again.

Black buzzers with a flash of red or orange seem be the most productive flies now, but this can change by the day. We recommend you bring a selection of buzzers and attempt to match the hatch, or tinker about until you find what they want on the day.

Remember if you are wading to do so with care and use your net pole to feel for firm ground underfoot. We would also like too politely remind all anglers not to wade to deep, and that day light must be visible between your thighs whilst wading.

For any further info or tips on the day, please speak to the Ranger team when visiting.
