Pitsford Water Week Ending 31st March 2024

Rod Average - 6.0

Pitsford continues to fish very well. The early season tightly shoaled fish have begun to spread throughout the water and this has meant that it has not been so easy to sit on top of the recent stock fish.

By far the best methods still seem to be nymph tactics with the two stand out fly patterns being buzzers and diawl bachs. The change in wind direction to a colder Easterly has required fishing the buzzers a little deeper with fish feeding 7-10 feet down. The bung or straight lined deep fished buzzers have worked well as has small lures on Di lines.

Sam Edmunds had a stunning Brown, a personal best of 8lb4oz, caught on buzzer while Phil Jordan continued his fine start to the season with another double figure fish taken on deep fished fry patterns.

Fish have been reported from most areas with Sailing club, Bog bay and Stone barn producing well.
The Pines and Pitsford creek continue to fish even though they have seen a lot of action.
