Fish week 114 (Season 5473) Returns 83 (1126) Rod average 3.4 (4.85)

Bank

Pitsford continues to improve from the boats and the bank remains very good.

It is a case of as you were for bank anglers with no let up with Shrimp feeding trout in the margins at the Flats, Creek, Sermons and Gravels. We are getting more reports of some of these fish now taking fry patterns and spoonings have shown some Perch fry in the stomachs but Shrimp is still the main food.

The boat sport is improving by the day and those who have ventured out into the open water across the main basin have been rewarded with some nice fish. Washing line tactics on Floating or slow tip lines has been the best approach for these fish with Diawls and Crunchers along with Muskins being successful.

We are starting to get reports of some of the big resident Browns showing but not in great numbers yet.

The best-reported fish of the week was another estimated 8lb plus fish, with others at 7lb and a few around the 4-5lb mark.

Plenty of the Rainbows being caught are around the 3-4lb mark and are in fantastic condition with full tails and are giving a good account of themselves.

A further stocking of 1800 Exe Valley fish around the 800g average stamp has ensured that the sport should continue.

Bookings

Bookings are now being taken for both the Ravensthorpe Fur and Feather on Sunday 30th October, and the Pitsford Fur and Feather on Sunday 6th November. Both are boat pairs matches with some cracking hampers as prizes so call the lodge to reserve your boat.
