Fish Week 34 (Season 4348), Returns 13 (756) Rod average 2.6 (5.7)
The conditions have taken their toll on Pitsford with the fishing being very difficult the last week. Amazingly the water remains very clear but the water temperature has continued to climb and has been uncomfortably warm in the upper layers.
The rod average for the week is 2.6 with the odd angler doing better with a bag of 5 or 6 fish. Interestingly the better catches have been using floating or midge tip lines fishing a washing line method with fabs and nymphs, uv crunchers being the best pattern. The main basin and dam frontage continues to be the best area with some fish also being found at the top of the narrows out in open water.
With temperatures set to remain very high over the next week, anglers are reminded that any fish caught may take time to recover if being released.
