Grafham Water week ending 5th November 2023

Fish killed & released 188, Returns - 73, Rod average - 2

Trout:

Don’t be fooled by the rod average of 2, there are a lot of fish being caught off the north shore. The low rod average is probably due to anglers struggling in very adverse conditions.

When the weather is clement and the wind favourable you can pretty much fill your boots on the north shore. Both boat and bank anglers are catching well verry close in to the points along the north shore particularly ‘G’ mark (If you can find a space). Static shrimp, REALLY static shrimp or popper fry are doing the damage in very shallow water.

Quick reminder to the boat anglers to be respectful to the bank anglers space.

There are NO reports of any fish being caught on the south shore except on the Dam early before 9am.

Predator:

The big perch shoal in and around the Marlow Jetty and ‘G’ mark have been taking a battering and will be becoming shyer and harder to tempt.

There are Perch round the Tower on the dam and under the walkway and a small shoal off of coves point. There have been some nice Zander caught but no reports of any doubles.

No reports from the pike anglers, however the North tower is always worth a try and anywhere that the cormorants are feeding

Online boat booking – We are pleased to announce our online boat booking system is now live!

Please be aware, from November the 13th onwards all boats bookings at Rutland, Grafham, Pitsford and Ravensthorpe will need to be paid for at the point of booking. The easiest and best way to book a boat is online at www.anglianwaterparks.co.uk

We strongly advise creating an account on our website (you will need an email address to do this). If you register an account, this will mean:

a) It will speed up any future boat bookings,

b) you can self-amend your booking up to 2 days before your trip – so a boat booked for Saturday can be self-amended up to Midnight Thursday.

c) staff can book a boat for you in the lodge (if you wanted to pay in cash for example)

d) Season ticket holders can keep tabs on how many fish they have taken for the season

You won’t need an account if you are a ‘walk-in’ and pay on the day without having pre-booked, however please note, from November the 13th we will no longer be able to process split boat payments in the lodge for walk-ins.

If you have any questions, please email our Retail and online manager Neil at: natkins2@anglianwater.co.uk
