Fish killed & released 92 (Season 6068) Returns 22 (841) Rod average 4.2 (7.2)
Pitsford fished well again over the last week with shrimp again predominately being the main food source. Anglers are finding fish tight to the weed beds in areas such as Sermons, the Gravels, the flats and the cliffs, with perhaps unusually for this time of year Duffers.
Hare’s ears and suspender hare’s ears are accounting for a lot of fish on Pitsford at the moment, with variations such at the Ghimp fly (available at the lodge) also catching. As well as shrimp, snails and Fry are also on the menu, which most fish being caught up in the water.
The 2000 fish that were stocked last week continue to be be caught and have also stirred up the resident fish with a number of fish 3+ and 4+ reported. The water remains clear throughout and perhaps unsurprisingly with the rain we have had, full.
Outlook:
The outlook looks good for the week ahead, although by Thursday we are expecting temperatures in the mid-twenties, it looks like this will drop off again, with cooler conditions and some light rain meaning the water temperature will stay favourable.
