Fish week 751 Returns 83 Rod average 9.0

Pitsford is  producing excellent sport with a rod average for the week of 9.0 and quality fish all over the reservoir. The bank fishing has been excellent and matching the top quality boat fishing. The standout catch return of the week came from an angler fishing the Northfields Shore on Thursday. He fished small diawl bachs to tempt a couple of  Browns weighing an estimated 8lb plus and 10lb plus. Both fish were safely returned to the water.

We have seen numerous notable catches with large bags of fish plus a  number of quality Browns. One boat package angler fishing Ptsford for a couple of days caught and released over 70 fish with Rainbows up to 6lb and Browns to 7lb. One of our season ticket holders took 32 trout over three days and lost a Brown at the net estimated around 13-14lb. He also had a perch of 3lb 8oz.

Fish are coming from all areas and the small half of the lake is now clear and is fishing well. The best methods are definitely buzzers and nymphs such as diawl bachs, crunchers and muskins fished on floating or tip lines. Dries have been working with fish now taking Hawthorn flies that are being blown onto the water in good numbers.

The predator fishing  returned at Pitsford on 16 May with boats booking up quickly. Please call the lodge to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Best Rainbow: 6lb plus.

Best Brown: 10lb plus.
