Pitsford Water Walking & Relaxing

There is always something to do at Pitsford Water. A birdwatching favourite, our nature reserve is also home to a diverse set of mammal and amphibious species you can watch discreetly from a hide.

The fishing here is great too. Our fishing lodge is a hub for angling information and has a well-stocked tackle shop that’s fantastic value. Plus, there are meeting facilities for those essential get togethers.

Naturally, we also play host to Northampton Sailing Club which offers sailing and watersports experiences and instruction to people of all ages and abilities.

And, just a short walk away, Brixworth Country Park has a licensed café, a kids’ adventure playground and more trails. Plus, you can buy or hire a bike to take you around Pitsford Water.

Yes. We’ve got seven miles of tracks skirting the banks and following all the inlets and coves. They’re hard-surfaced, so they’re equally inviting on a bike and fully accessible to prams and wheelchair users.

The nature reserve is accessible by permit which can be bought from the fishing lodge.

Be our guest. There are plenty of benches positioned strategically around Pitsford Water, each of them giving you a unique perspective on our wonderful surroundings and all the goings on.

There’s also a picnic area across at Brixworth Country Park, so feel free to bring a pack-up and chew things over with friends and family.

Absolutely, your four-legged friend is most welcome at the park. But please follow our dog code:

• Lead by example - your dog must be on a lead at all times.
• Share this space - please make sure your dog doesn't spoil other people's enjoyment
• Keep our parks clean - bag and dispose of your dog's waste responsibly
• No doggy paddling - Please keep dogs out of the water, blue green algae can develop in the margins and is harmful if ingested.  The water also provides sanctuary to an abundance of wildfowl, often nesting on the waters edge.
