Pitsford Water week ending 17 November

Fish 163 (Season 15,878) Returns 42 (3,141) Rod average 3.9 (5.05)

Anglers have enjoyed some great bank fishing this week on Pitsford with plenty of superbly conditioned fish being caught. The rod average for the week is 3.9 (5.1 for the season).

Shrimp is the main food on the menu but fish are also taking fry patterns or even buzzer if it is a milder day.

All areas are producing fish if wind conditions and direction are right.

Best of the returns this week was one of our day ticket anglers who caught 11 fish from Sailing Club bank. He had a Rainbow of 5lb 4oz and returned a Brown of 4lb 3oz.

One of our regular anglers fished the bank on Sunday morning catching six fish. He had Rainbows of 5lb and 4lb, catching all of his fish on shrimp patterns.

Boat fishing is also good, though in the deeper water, with intermediate lines and fry/lure patterns most effective. The Pines, Pitsford Creek and Narrows have been producing for the boats.

Day boat prices are now reduced for the winter – the Winter boat is available from 9am to sunset £21, single man £15.
