Fish caught 281, returns 51, rod average 5.5 (Season 7.03)

Anglers have seen a better week with a rod average of 5.5.

Once again fish have been caught in various depths on sinking lines and fry patterns but most sport has been taken on floating lines with popper minkie drifting just off the weedbeds.

just like last week Gibbet Gorse to the lodge and Normanton bank have produced some excellent sport, another area has been from Spud Bay to Barnhill.
Bank fishing - Fish are still feeding on shrimp and snails but they are also feeding hard in fry. visible weed beds should be your target, dries including CDC’s, shipmans buzzer and hares ear along with fry patterns should all be in your fly box.

Some information from anglers online catch returns. Please ensure you complete yours and remember photos can also be uploaded along with your notes.

New Zealand point, Brown shrimp close in.

Caught at Barnhill and Barnhill creek on dry fly.

Popper fry on floating line. Best location was drifting the full length of the Normanton bank to  the Dam about 100 yards out. 2 fish of 3-4lb making it six in total to the boat. We had two fish of around 4lb and three well over 3lb. Not easy but very enjoyable and very rewarding.
