Ravensthorpe week ending 2nd April 2023

Ravensthorpe has come to life and is on fire with a rod average of 9.4 for the week.

Buzzers are coming off in vast numbers and the fish have been gorging on them. Various tactics have been productive from straight lined teams of flies, washing line and most successfully the indicator or bung.

Earlier in the week three boats reported catching over 140 fish between them on buzzer tactics.

Fish have taken at all depths and we have even seen the first real dry fly action this week with dry fly expert Mick O’Farrell having a session and tempting 15 on dries.

Fish have been found around the island, at Cotton end and across the middle and have been seen actively feeding on the surface taking the hatching buzzers.

With the settled mild conditions now is the perfect time to head over for some cracking sport and the chance of getting into one of Ravensthorpes many double figure Rainbows.
