Ravensthorpe week ending 24th March 2024

Rod Average - 15.0

Ravensthorpe is fishing very well at the moment, with a great rod average and many anglers having a great days sport - with Ravensthorpe in the type of early season form we have come to expect.

Anglers have been catching on a variety of flies and methods, some notable ones included buzzers (Straight lined and under the bung) and Diawl bachs and crunchers in dark colours, fished on floating lines or intermediate, with the fish being just below the surface. Anglers have also been using lures and snakes again in dark colours like black and green.

The fish have been caught around the middle of the reservoir and around the island. Bank anglers have had some sport around the first few platforms also with similar methods. Overall good sport for all those who have had a go!

On the 18th we hosted the Forrester fly boys, who had a cracking day.  264 fish were caught between the 17 anglers - with Rainbows up to just under 4lbs.
