Pitsford Water week ending 7 November

Rod average week 4.0 (Season 5.4)

The bank fishing at Pitsford is proving more productive than the boat fishing due to the fish coming into the margins to feed on the food items exposed by the weed beds which are now starting to die back. Shrimp, snails and fry are all in the margins and the fish are now feeding hard on them.  The best bank areas are Pitsford Creek, Flats, Sailing Club and Cliffs.

Pitsford hosted the popular Fur & Feather pairs boat match on Sunday. The weather was not kind with strong winds all day. 18 boats fished, catching 81 fish. Only one boat pair managed to catch their 10 fish limit and this was Graham Willis and his boat partner, each of them winning a festive hamper. The biggest fish of the match weighed 4lb 2oz and was caught by Andre Van Aardt.

All anglers enjoyed a drink and a mince pie after the weigh in with several reporting catching large Browns which were out of season so safely returned to the water and not counting in the match.
Please note throughout November the lodges will be open 8am-2pm
