Fish 556 (Season 14,150) Returns 131 (2,712) Rod average 4.2(5.2)

The fishing has been fantastic again this week with both boat and bank anglers catching well with some really good quality fish being caught.

Pitsford’s big Browns are now feeding and there is the chance of a quality back end fish. There have been three 6lb specimens reported this week with another couple of bigger fish hooked and lost.

Dave Strudwick had a memorable morning on Saturday, fishing from the bank along Sermons and Rigbys. He had 17 fish; 6 Brown trout with two estimated at 6lb and 11 Rainbows with one of these around 6lb.

Other fish of note were a Brown of 5lb caught by Terry Barley and another 5lb fish to Bob Sherwood.

The boat fishing has been on excellent form too with lots of fish in the main basin and into the Narrows. Floating or midge tip lines and FAB’s or small boobies teamed with diawls or crunchers have accounted for lots of fish.

Another 1,000 big fish were stocked this week taking the total so far this season to 27,500.
