Fish week 274 (Season 6,923) Returns 65 (1,025) Rod average 4.2 (6.75)

Pitsford’s rod average for the week is 4.2; 6.75 for the season. The best Rainbow of the week was 8lb 8oz and the best Brown 7lb 6oz.

The previous week the weather conditions took their toll and the fishing was very challenging. Certain quite specific methods and areas produced quality fish, but for the most part the fish were not interested.

However, as the weather cooled the fishing came on again and from Thursday onwards into last weekend fish were active and feeding in the top couple of feet and some good catches were reported.

The best Rainbow of the week fell to an angler enjoying a three day boat holiday package with conditions improving for his final day, boat partner took some quality fish with Rainbows to 8lb 8oz and a huge Brown which managed to break their Di5 line!

Other notable catches this week included a couple of Rainbows over 4lb ina bag of 7 fish, caught on damsel patterns in the week beds. One of our regular anglers caught and released 18 fish whilst fishing dries early in the morning, with big reds working, changing to two boobies on a floater in the afternoon.

One boat pair opted to target the fish feeding in the weedbeds, boating 12 quality fish up to 6lb plus on damsels.

With a further stocking of 1,500 fish this week taking the total so far this season to22,000, there are plenty of fish in the main bowl and dam area.

Best Rainbow: 8lb 8oz.

Best Brown: 7lb 8oz.

Fish stocked: 1,500
