Pitsford Water Week Ending 22nd October 2023

Fish killed & released 114, Returns 42, Rod average 2.71

Over the last couple of weeks Pitsford has really switched on.

Anglers are catching on shrimp, hoppers, hairs ears and gimps with a blob or fab on the point. Fish are often found close into the banks and margins. Popular spots have been Sailing Club Bay/Bank and along the narrows.

On Sunday 22nd October Mid Northants held a boat match at Pitsford. 18 anglers took part on a perfect sunny/overcast Autumn Day. 41 fish were caught and then measured before being released. Anglers reported that it was a day of ‘lots of pulls and fish on and off’. The top rod had four fish measuring 188cm including a fantastic brownie measuring 56cms. There were some good-sized fish caught mostly on shrimp and blobs.

The rod average for the week is a respectable 3.
