Fish 220 (Season 14,635) Returns 54 (2,828) Rod average 4.0 (5.17)

With a rod average of just over 4 and several good fish being recorded Pitsford continues to fish very well. Browns up to around 8lb have been reported again with lots around 5-6lb. The Rainbows are also packing on weight with a few fish around the 5lb mark being reported from both bank and boat.

One angler, on holiday from Scotland, had a cracking day boat fishing with us, catching an 8 fish bag for 29lb 12oz and returning a further 12 fish. He fished a brown and gold lure around the Pitsford Creek area to tempt his fish with Rainbows of 4lb 10oz, 4lb and two at 3lb 12oz in his bag.

One of our season ticket anglers has enjoyed a good week catching several fish from the bank to the Gravels. He had Rainbows up to 5lb fishing shrimp patterns in the shallows.

The fish continue to feed heavily on shrimp and snail around the weedbeds and in the shallow water. Whilst boat anglers are catching in the open water of the main bowl with drifts along Sailing Club and Pines producing good numbers of fish.  Best boat methods are midge tip lines and washing line tactics with FAB’s or boobies on the point and nymphs on droppers.
