Fish killed & released 70, Returns - 36, Rod average - 1.94
Our anglers reported some fine catches this week with several rainbows over 5lb and the biggest fish weighing an impressive 7lb 20oz!
Fishing continue to feed in short spells and every day was slightly different with anglers reporting that the on and off times for feeding were very noticeable on the day.
The methods that worked well this week were shrimp and hare’s ears on a washing line with a fab point although a switch to lure patterns sometimes paid dividends. Although the fish do seem to be coming into the margins in search of shrimp, our predator have reported seeing a fair few rainbows on their finders in very deep water.
The banks have been quite popular this week with many anglers being seen around the north shore, Marlow Bay and on the harbour arms. Saturday’s Bank Match winner had 6 fish weighing 13lb 13oz. The best areas for the match were Church Hill Cove, Pylon Point and Deep Water Point. Other bank anglers successfully fished at G bank and by the Willows.
Saturday and Sunday we welcomed a lot of predator anglers at Grafham and they reported back 5.5lb Perch with the best areas being the Willows and closer to the boils and tower. Pike anglers were very happy to find fish in “perfect condition” at 10lb, two 14lb’s, 18lb and 25lb 12oz.
The Grafham Rangers team also want to say a big thank you to all anglers who have gone the extra mile to return their boats in a lovely condition at the end of their fishing day. It made us feel very appreciated and the fact that you have made the extra effort has not gone unnoticed.
