Grafham Water week ending 11 November

Fish 122 (Season 12,161) Returns 46 (2,810) Rod average 2.66 (4.32)

There is still some good sport at Grafham with many anglers catching fish from the bank and boat. The rod average is currently 2.66 although we are likely to see an improvement over the coming week. Anglers are reporting good catch rates in recent days with a number of tactics working well; fishing static on a floating line with shrimp and diawl bachs and lure fishing on intermediate lines may give you a better chance.

The bank fishing is still sporadic though keeping mobile and fishing areas with gravel, stone or structure will help you catch your bag. Again, it’s been a case of more fish early or late in the day, though we recommend trying some quieter, out of the way spots for a surprise or two. Waders are a must currently and a prod stick is recommended.

Boat fishing has been good in the usual spots along the north shore although many are missing out on some good sport off Sludge Point, the Seat, in front of the sailing Club, Perry Point and out past the boom. South dam, G marker and Deep Water Point have been popular, though Hill Farm and out from Church Cove may be worth a visit.

Boat harbour at Grafham

Due to the receding water all boat anglers will require at the very least wellingtons or waders. The pontoon is no longer accessible so please ask in the shop or a ranger for directions to temporary measures. This sadly means the wheelie boat is unavailable until further notice. Boat times may vary from those specified so we can get everybody in safely. Rangers will be around to assist you on and off the boats and we advise contacting the duty warden before you return to the shore. Please do not leave any boats unattended. Thank you for your patience.
