Fish 653 (Season 21,433) Returns 167 (4,085) Rod average 3.91 (5.24)

Rutland Water is fishing extremely well for both bank and boat anglers alike. Anglers are commenting on the quality of fish which is excellent with plenty of food items to feed on especially with the amazing amount of fry and really good numbers of shrimp showing in stomach contents.

The resident Browns are starting to show again with all the food about with some reports of excellent specimens. Stuart Hume netted a fine 6lb 4½oz fish and Welsh angler Kieran returned two excellent quality fish on Sunday with further fish up to 8lb caught off the bank. Roger Oliver from Sheffield got amongst the Browns later on in the day and returned two with one just under 5lb and the other just under 6lb.

Boats have fared best down the south arm, with reports of fish being both close in and right out in the open water. Season ticket holders Al Owen and Roger Gill had 16 big fish using the washing line method with nymphs to great effect. The reservoir continues to fish very well with fish being caught throughout the day.

Our Summer Sunset ticket is now available to purchase – so take advantage of what is often the best part of the day. Priced at just £12 for one fish plus catch and release you can fish from 6pm.
Reduced boat hire for seniors Seniors can hire a boat every Thursday during July & August for just £20 (and Tuesdays throughout the season)
