Fish week 208 (Season 4820) Returns 116 (936) Rod average 1.8 (5.15)
Bank
As fish have turned onto naturals close in, bank anglers have reported good sport around Sermons, the Creek and the flats, the fish that have been spooned proved to be predominately killer shrimp feeders, with some fish being caught absolutely stuffed to the gills with them. With the slightly cooler, more overcast conditions forecasted we expect the bank fish to gain pace as we head further into the autumn. Whilst the bank fishing can be good, please be aware that a number of areas are still extremely weedy, so you can’t get a line out everywhere. Whilst in the clearer areas it is worth trying washing line tactics with a mixture of Diawls, Hare’s ears and Shrimp patterns, just be careful with trailing droppers around the weedbeds. Where the weed does cause a bit of a problem the forecasted conditions look good for dries, so something like a single sugar cube hare’s ear maybe worth a go, over and around the weedbeds.
Boat
Boat wise, areas to try are as above (if there are no bank anglers around), in front of the dam and P buoy around by the sailing club. The overcast conditions forecasted should mean Washing line tactics, such as hares ears and fabs should be a successful method, either using a full floater or tip lines.
