Rod average for week 8.4, season 7. Best Rainbow 4lb8oz, Best Brown est 7lb+. Pitsford has fished very well this week with a rod average of 8.4 and some quite exceptional catches.

The buzzer fishing has been the best method with bung, washing line or straight line methods all working.

Those wanting to explore the depths or targeting the big residents have also caught well with Di5 and Di7 lines also working well.

Phil Jordan has had a great start to the season consistently catching good numbers of fish with some impressive Brown trout in the mix. He has recorded several fish around the 7lb plus mark and has had success fishing a Woolly Bugger style lure.

Graham Pearson has also had a great week fishing buzzers to catch two Browns estimated to be between 7-8lb.

Not to be out done Barry Sheddon has been in fine form from the bank with catches into double figures most visits.

Amongst other noteable returns were D Jeffery who caught and released a Brown of 5lb8oz, and N Clements who reported having had a fantastic session catching and releasing 22 Rainbows.

With the wind swinging around to a Northerly during the week it has been a bit fresher but the hatches are still coming off. Bank anglers have found fish from Sermons down to the Cliffs with Gorse bank fishing well. Northfields is holding fish in the corner of the Causeway and the recently stocked stunning Browns from Westacre trout farm have started appearing at Stone Barn and Duffers. Anglers are reminded that these cracking fish are to be returned alive please. Mid week boat winner Mr K Lockton.
