Fish week 294 (Season 968) Returns 49 (149) Rod average 6 (6.5)

Rod average for week 6, season 6.5. Best Rainbow 4lb12oz, Best Brown est 7lb+.

Pitsford is fishing well to a multitude of methods and most areas are holding fish. Buzzers and shrimp are on the menu but lures will still work with fish willing to chase. Some lovely overwintered fish have been reported with our resident Brown trout making an appearance.

Tactics have been varied from floating lines and buzzers to Di7 and Humungous all working.

Bank fishing has been excellent with lots of catches into double figures from Rigbys, Sermons, Gravels, Stilton Point and Cliffs while the boats have found fish in Stone Barn, Sailing club frontage and Sailing club bank, Brixworth Bay and Narrows.

Fish that have been spooned have revealed lots of small black and dark olive buzzers in size 14 and 16 though fish have been happy to take a larger imitation. Shrimp have been in the spoonings of even the fresh stock fish so clearly these fish have quickly turned on to them as a food source.

Although forecast to be wet this week the temperature is remaining mild so expect the buzzer sport to continue.

Mid week boat draw winner is Mr P Murphy
