Pitsford Water Week Ending 21st May 2023

Fish week 331 (Season 4062) Returns 55 (381) Rod average 6 (10.7)

Sport continues to be consistent on Pitsford with excellent fishing from bank and boat from most areas.

In the past week we have seen more fish coming to nymphs with Diawls and Crunchers starting to account for more fish and shrimp patterns fished around the margins working well. Damsel patterns are also starting to come into their own with the nymph being in evidence.

The big resident Browns are still being caught with specimens of 6lb8oz and 5lb2oz amongst several fish reported in the returns this week. Rainbows up to 5lb have also been reported in the returns with the main tactic being buzzers fished either straight lined or under the bung.

Some of the regulars are now reporting a lot of fish coming to small Shrimp or Hares ear patterns fished close in and some of the spoonings of fish have shown huge amounts of Shrimp.

For those who want to fish sunk lines and lures there are still fish to be had as they are happy to chase. Snakes and Humungous patterns have been successful on Di3 and 5 lines with Sailing Club frontage fishing well to this method.

Best bank areas this week have been Narrows, Gorse and Cliffs.

The Tuesday evening boat club fished very well last week with anglers catching plenty of fish so feel free to come along to the lodge around 5pm.
