Grafham Water week ending 3rd March 2024

Rod average - 2.0

Stock fish are close in and podded up.

Bank anglers can either wait it out and hope for a pod to arrive or take an active approach and move around to look for them. The better overwintered rainbows and browns are holding a bit further out, mainly in the coloured water where they feel less vulnerable and happier to feed.

The fish seem to be in the top 4 feet and those gutted or spooned contain large shrimp. Most of the fish are coming to lures, boobies, fabs and blobs. Black or green and white for the lures (cats whiskers) and tequila for the fabs and blobs.

Best bank areas - the dam particularly the bowl, G and coves on the North shore and around the harbour on the south shore.

Best boat areas - the coloured water from the North tower to the stumps, hedge end, G, and the bowl of the dam.

If it's flat a bung and a buzzer is worth trying for the early hatchers.
