Rutland Watersports Launching & Storage

Nothing can beat the freedom that comes with having and using your own equipment and here at Rutland Water we want to make it as easy as possible for you to get out on the water and make the most of your leisure time. Sailing, Windsurfing, Kayaking and Stand Up Paddleboarding; whatever your choice of sport we have a variety of launch and sailing boat storage options to suit everyone.

Day Launch Permits

Do not want an annual permit? We offer a range of day launch options which are issued from the Watersports Centre upon your arrival.

Please note: Powered craft and beach toys are not permitted on the water.

Launch Only Permits

For those of you with windsurfing equipment, canoes, kayaks and stand up paddleboards, we offer launch only permits which come with no storage facilities. This option is also available for those of you with boats who keep them off site and prefer to trailer them to Rutland Water and launch on an ad-hoc basis.

This permit allows one craft on the water at any one time; for the windsurfing or sailing families among you who usually launch more than one board or boat at a time, please ask about our great value family permits.

Launch and Storage Permits

This option is exactly the same as the launch only permit but also includes 'on land' storage of your boat. Please note we are not a sailing 'club' and individual personal memberships are not required.

Please note we cannot offer storage facilities for windsurfers, SUP's, kayaks or canoes.

Great Value Annual Permits

Whatever your choice of watersports, we have a wide range of annual permits available so there is bound to be one to suit your needs; all of our annual permits allow access to Rutland Water from Whitwell when the watersports entrance is open and comes with an Anglian Water annual car parking pass which can be used at any Anglian Water owned park including Rutland Water, Grafham Water, Alton Water and Ravensthorpe Reservoir to name a few. Please note that annual launch permits issued from Rutland Watersports will not allow launching of craft onto any other Anglian Water reservoirs.

Holders also receive a 10% discount on services and purchases from the Watersports Centre, exclusions apply.

Terms and Conditions, Rules of Sailing and Local Byelaws apply to all launch and storage permits.

Annual permits run from April 1st to March 31st.

Also available are 6 monthly summer permits running from April 1st to September 30th.
