Rutland Water Children's Activities
From splashing around in our waters to delving into the world of nature, we have a wide range of children’s activities to keep both kids and their parents happy.
Both educational and fun, children’s activities can be found at Rutland Watersports, Anglian Water Bird Watching Centre and Rutland Water Park.

On the water
We want to help youngsters learn new skills and engage in sport, which is why we have a number of certified water sport courses running throughout the year, to keep them active and entertained.
Just some of our most popular junior courses – which are taught by Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and BCU instructors – include:
- junior windsurfing
RYA stages 1 & 2
Advanced windsurfing courses are also available.
- junior sailing
RYA stages 1-4
Advanced sailing modules are on offer.
- canoe and kayak

On land
Off the water we run engaging and fun children’s activities designed especially for inquisitive minds.
Run from Mondays-Thursdays throughout school holidays, we will transform youngsters into nature detectives, teaching them all about the wonderous wildlife that lives in Rutland Water.
Or, perhaps a day of pond dipping, bug hunting and exploring the nature reserve is more up their street? If so, then located at our birdwatching centre in Egleston children aged 7-11 can get active and learn more about creatures big and small.
Celebrate with us
Rutland Water is also the perfect setting for children’s birthday parties.
With a whole host of children’s activities available, including watersports and raft building, we can host a birthday party to remember.
And, for something extra-special, we also offer themed parties including our popular Really Wild parties for little ones looking to delve deeper into the world of nature.
