Fish 164 (Season 11,674) Returns 56 (2,097) Rod average 2.9 (5.6)

Pitsford Water had a further stocking of 2,000 Exe Valley fish this week, bringing the number stocked up to 21,500 for the season. Once again these were fantastic quality, full finned fish, many weighed at over a kilo with several over 1.25 kg.

The fishing this week has been mixed with a rod average for the week of 2.9, against a season average of 5.7. That said, some anglers have reported great sport if in the right areas and fishing the right method.

John Pearson and Ray Rouse proved this by enjoying a great day on the water, catching fifteen fish between them, up to 4lb. They fished floating lines with diawl bachs and bibio patterns and drifts across the main bowl.

Bob Aves had a great morning fishing a single booby or fab on a floating line, which he stroked through the surface. He said the sport was hectic with fish bow waving behind the fly.

With conditions settling down this week expect the fish to be up in the water and fish floating lines with confidence.
