Boat fishing to resume and tackle shops re-opening on 2 December at Rutland, Grafham and Pitsford
Grafham has become the go to venue for bank angers. The quality of the fish being caught along with the high number of catches is highly impressive making Grafham the premier venue.
With a northerly wind the best spots to try are the Willows along with Deep Water Point and Pylon point; if this sounds surprising we have had reports that the right hand side of Pylon has been fishing well for the past few days so long as you arrive early enough to beat other anglers.
The Seat has been fishing its socks off when there has been a southerly wind and of course the south end of the dam is always worth a look.
The methods have changed somewhat over the past few weeks, although it is true that lures such as perch patterns and fry patterns are still catching fish, more traditional methods have also been effective; try a static washing line with a booby or a fab on the point with two nymphs on the droppers, hares ears are the best with nothing more than a size14 hook.
Anglers are reminded to purchase bank permits by phone from the tackle shop, this is mandatory we do not operate any permit sales on the day on the bank, therefore the permit must be purchased before fishing commences.
