Grafham Water week ending 28 June
The past week at Grafham Water has produced some fantastic sport from both the bank and the boat. Although hot weather and large algae blooms have made the fishing harder, many anglers have found the fish and reported some bumper catches. Red diawl bachs and green damsels have worked particularly well as have small fabs cast to showing fish.
The deep water of the dam has made it a particularly good spot for bank fishing during the hot weather and many anglers have been catching well throughout the day, so if you are planning a bank session give it a go.
If boat fishing then the aerator near the dam has been in great form and many anglers have been bagging up by lunch whilst drifting over the top. Although the fishing has slowed up a bit compared to the previous weeks the rod average is still a very respectable 6.5 and many of the fish caught are fantastically conditioned bars of silver in the 3-4lb range.
