Fish395 (Season 2,564) Returns 54 (369) Rod average 7.3 (6.9)
The rod average at Pitsford this week is 7.3 which is excellent considering the changing weather conditions. The best catches have been to anglers fishing to the conditions.
One of our season ticket holders enjoyed three boat sessions during the hot spell. Initially with little success on nymphs he then switched to Di7 lines and snakes or tubes to take lots of better fish out in the main basin. His best Rainbow was 5lb 5oz with several others between 3-4lb.He also had two browns all fish being returned.
Bank anglers have found the best sport first thing or last thing with fish coming in to feed on shrimp, damsel and buzzer. One angler took four good fish from the bank at Rigbys using black buzzers on a floating line before the wind picked up. Other bank anglers have enjoyed good sport with hares ear or shrimp patterns along the Gravels, Sermons and Grange Farm Creek.
In overcast conditions washing line tactics are best with fab or booby and buzzers or diawl bachs on droppers. Red holo on diawl bach and greensleeves diawl bach have both worked well and muskins has started to take fish.
Best Rainbow: 5lb 5oz.
