Pitsford Water

Fish 440 (Season 2,056) Returns 44(259) Rod average 10.0 (7.9)

It has been a superb week on Pitsford with a rod average of 10 and both boat and bank fishing well with super fit, hard fighting fish coming out all over the lake.

Many anglers are reporting some amazing sport with fit fish between the 3-5lb mark and many catching into double figures.

One of our season ticket holders had 26 fish from the bank around Pitsford Creek, catching on floater and small nymphs.

22 fish fell to one of our regular boat anglers fishing in the main basin with his best fish a nice 5lb 8oz Rainbow.

The best Brown of the week was a nice 5lb 2oz specimen safely returned.

The best methods have been buzzers fished either washing line or under an indicator or targeting the shrimp feeders using hares ear or shrimp patterns.

We are just starting to see fish feeding on the pin fry so expect this to become more prominent over the coming weeks.

Best Rainbow: 5lb 8oz returned.

Best Brown: 5lb 2oz returned.

Best boat areas: Main basin, Brixworth Bay, Sailing Club.

Best bank areas: Gravels, Cliffs, Brixworth Bay, Sailing Club.
