Rod Average - 3.0

Rutland has experienced the hot weather like the rest of the country at the moment, and not surprisingly has had a number of anglers staying away from the reservoir.
However,  those that did visit saw both Bank and boat anglers record fish, including Brown's to 8lb and rainbows to 7lb!
Season  ticket holders, John Wadham, David Walker, and Mick Connor all recorded six fish apiece off the Bank the same day, with dries doing the business,  it was Dave Wallker who caught the 7lb rainbow, already mentioned.
All three also said  that there were fish moving most of the time they were there in the earlier part of last week when there was a decent breeze blowing.

Boat anglers generally caught in the main basin, with the Aerators receiving a lot of attention, but people did find fish around some of the weed beds that have now been exposed around the shoreline, including an 8lb plus Brown being reported. These weedbeds have suddenly shown up due to water levels dropping quickly, consumer use and the very hot weather etc The Tuesday night boat league were again amongst the fish, with a rod average of just under 4 per rod.
.
There has been a good mixture of stockfish caught, but also some grown on, silvered up fish and overwintered ones caught in the 3lb plus category.
