Rutland Water week ending 21 November

Fish 118 (Season 36,437) Returns 56 (6,668) Rod average week 2.1 (5.46)

Rutland continues to fish well with boat anglers seeing the most sport. Fish have been caught high in the water using floating to intermediate lines and mainly lure patterns such as humungus, minkies, snakes, tubes and popper fry patterns. Most of the boat action has been outside the harbour down to the church with a few boat anglers trying areas in the North Arm such as Armley to Carrot Creek and round to Barn Hill and Barnsdale.

Although Browns are out of season, fish circa 8lb have been seen.

Bank anglers have mainly been fishing along the peninsula especially towards the tip such as Armley round to Barnhill and are using the same tactics as the boat anglers where weed levels allow.

A word of warning for bank anglers; due to the current low water levels, please take extra care when walking towards the water and in the shallows due to thick mud. Use wading staffs or landing net handles.

Anglers are reminded of the winter restrictions now in force. If in doubt please ask a member of staff or search Anglian Water Fisheries on Facebook to view a detailed map showing the out of bounds areas (posted 30 October).

Please observe boat in times which are currently 4pm. Many anglers are returning late.
