Ravensthorpe week ending 8 August

Fish week 45 (Season 4,650) Returns 27 (647) Rod average 1.7 (7.2)

The beginning of the week was challenging due to mill pond conditions combined with hot, sunny days. However, rainfall and a drop in temperature meant the fish showed themselves again.

Anglers casting to rising fish on red/orange emerger patterns, red diawl bachs and boobies fished on washing lines, proved to be the most favourable tactics.

No one has yet succeeded in finding a method to catch fish feeding on ram’s head snails. Many fish have been full of these when gutted.

Best boat areas: Lodge bank, central and dam end.
