Fish 483 (Season 5,695) Returns 60 (672) Rod average 8.05 (8.4)

Tony Gilbert’s fantastic Rainbow, estimated at around 18lb 8oz, is one of the biggest fish caught in recent years. Tony fished off the dam on a floating line with a small magpie buzzer. The fish was weighed on portable scales and witnessed by three of our angling regulars before being safely returned to the water.

Ravensthorpe is also maintaining an excellent rod average with this week’s rod average standing at 8.05.

Both the boats and dam wall are fishing really well with the fish well spread out across the water. Fish are being taken on buzzers straight lined or under the bung. Bloodworm and diawl bachs are working well, as are dries and also snail patterns, mainly at the Coton end just off the Causeway.
