Fish 345 (Season 4,833) Returns 38 (559) Rod average 9.0(8.6)

Ravensthorpe is on great form this week with a 9 fish rod average. The biggest fish of the week was a superb Rainbow weighing in at 15lb 7oz.

Early in the week anglers had mixed results with some having trouble finding fish whilst others enjoyed red letter days. Roger Morehen had a great time on Tuesday landing nine fish on buzzers, including a lovely brace, one weighing 9lb 2oz and the other 8lb 12oz. The fish were weighed on the boat and safely returned. Best tactics this week have been combinations of blob, buzzer and diawl bachs on floating or midge tip lines.

Unfortunately the strong winds on Saturday prevented boats from going out but on Sunday anglers enjoyed some fantastic fishing with most boats having 10 plus fish, with some anglers losing count! Grant Gibson and John Mills had a memorable morning bringing 20 plus fish to the boat, including the best fish of the week, a 15lb 7oz Rainbow which was taken by John. This fine specimen took a gold head black fritz lure almost as it hit the surface in front of the dam.

The bank fishing has been best from the dam or along Monger Bank with buzzers fished static on a floating line.
