Fish 84 (Season 4,771) Returns 23 (1,091) Rod average 3.6 (4.4)

Although the hot weather has pushed the fish deeper this week, the rod average for the week is still 3.6 and the quality of these fish is exceptional. Nearly 50% of the fish caught have been around the 3lb mark or above. Several fish over 4lb have been caught and many released.

David O’Farrell had a good day with 6 fish and a further six returned. He fished a Di5 with a damsel booby and cormorants in the narrows around Gorse bank. Paul Hopwell boat fished in the basin taking 10 fish with 2 browns over 4lb and a rainbow over 4lb. Simon Lehane and John Castledine boat fished the dam and Narrows using Di7 lines and had over ten fish to their boat. Simon and John both took Rainbows and Browns to 4lb plus on snake patterns and said the fish were in fantastic condition.

Bob Collins enjoyed four morning sessions on the bank at Gravels and Sermans and had 16 fish up to 4½lb.

Best Brown: 4lb plus.

Best boat areas: Main basin, Boils, Sailing Club.

Best bank areas: Gorse, Gravels.

Midweek boat winner: S Osborne.
