Pitsford Water Week Ending 7th July 2024

Rod Average - 5.0

The cooler conditions have brought the fish back on at Pitsford with the current rod average at 5.

Cooler surface water temperatures have seen fish up in the surface feeding and dry fly patterns have scored well in these conditions.

Dries such as Ffly, CDC Shuttle cocks, Crippled Midge are all working with fish seeming to prefer flies sitting in the surface.
Washing line tactics with fab or booby on point with small hares ear patterns or crunchers and diawls on droppers is also worth a try while for those who want to fish sunk lines Olive snakes fished a bit deeper have also produced good bags.
Most action is still in the main basin and dam area though some anglers are now reporting fish in the Narrows.

The boat fishing is better than from the bank but those fishing early and late from the bank can still pick up a few fish around the weed beds that are starting to form.
