Pitsford Water week ending 7 July

Fish 208 (Season 10,987) Returns 44 (1,861) Rod average 4.7 (5.9)

The rod average for the week at Pitsford is an excellent 4.7. Pitsford has again produced some cracking fish with plenty of Rainbows and Browns around the 3½ to 4½lb mark.

The best methods for both boat and bank are fishing imitative patterns such as damsel, snail, shrimp or pin fry imitations on a floating line. The fish are in the margins or on hotter days they have been around the aerators. If overcast they will come to dries with daddies, hoppers, small midge or cdc’s.

Malcolm Carter-Guild had a very good day catching Browns of 4lb, 3lb 8oz and 2lb 8oz as well as nine Rainbows. Ray Rouse had a fine Rainbow of 4lb 8oz. Whilst Malcolm Foreman also had a nice Rainbow of 4lb 6oz which was released.

The best bank areas have been Cliffs, Sailing Club, Pitsford Creek and the Flats.

Boat anglers are catching fish in the Narrows, Sailing Club Bay and in the Boils and in the basin.

Throughout July and August the ‘Senior Tuesday’ offer has been extended to Thursdays so why not take advantage of these reduced boat prices.
