Pitsford Water week ending 6 September

Rod average 5.8

It has been a cracking week on Pitsford and the bank fishing is really improving with lots of quality fish being caught. Sermons, Duffers, Pitsford Creek and Gravels are all producing from the bank with fry, shrimp and snail patterns along with dries such as daddies, grunter and Shipmans working.

Boat anglers are finding most fish in the main basin but there are now fish being found in the Narrows. Best methods are still floating or tip lines with either dries or teams of nymphs fished washing line style the best methods.

Some notable catches this week include a stunning 6lb 8oz Brown trout. One of our season ticket holders also continued his fine form from the bank with a Rainbow of 6lb and several others between 3-4lb. Two boat partners enjoyed great sport on the dry fly on Wednesday, catching and releasing 25 fish on orange and red bob’s bits

Best Rainbow: 6lb

Best Brown: 6lb 8oz
