Fish 265 (Season 14,415) Returns 62 (2,774) Rod average 4.3 (5.2)

Anglers are experiencing some fantastic boat and bank fishing on Pitsford Water with quality hard fighting fish spread throughout the lake.

The bank fishing is really taking off now; one season ticket holder recorded 14 fish from the bank at the Pines on Saturday morning. Most anglers are reporting fish around the 3-4lb mark feeding on shrimp, snails and fry.

Boats are picking fish up on drifts from the dam and out past the Pines and Sailing Club banks with fish now showing through the Narrows.

Floating or midge tip lines are all that are needed with washing line tactics best.

Notable catches include 19 fish to one boat with the best fish a Rainbow of 4lb 4oz. All these fish were taken on diawl bach and hares ear patterns.

One of our bank anglers enjoyed a very successful afternoon on the Sailing Club bank catching 7 fish including one Brown.

Lots of quality Browns have been reported this week with the best specimen caught and released at 8lb. Gordon Bloodworth caught and returned a fine 7lb Brown.

Mid Northants FFC held their Fur and Feather on Sunday with the top rod taking four fish for 11lb 2oz..
