Fish killed & released 335 (Season 6787) Returns 70 (964) Rod average 4.8 (7.0)
Pitsford has fished well this week with a very healthy rod average and more impressive some cracking fish being reported.
The pattern remains the same with floating or tip lines best and a mixture of tactics from dries to washing line with Shrimp and Snail patterns best.
There have been plenty of fit 3-4lb Rainbows reported with the odd better fish up to 6lb while the Browns have been reported up to 7-8lb. Boats have had the better of it this week though they are fishing tight to the weed beds and margins, some boats reporting 20 plus fish to the boat. That said the bank is still worth a try especially early in the day where you can pick up a few.
Small fabs or boobies fished with teams of Shrimp/hares ear patterns are still taking the most fish with the odd fish coming to fry patterns but the main diet is Shrimp and Snail. There have been fish reported around the Causeway and corner of Northfields, The Gravels, Sermons and the Pines with the main bowl also producing to washing line tactics with nymphs such as Diawls, Crunchers and Muskins working best here.
There is a further stocking of 2700 fish later this week which will take the season total so far to 25000.
