Fish 95 (Season 5,645) Returns 17 (926) Rod average 5.6 (6.1)

Pitsford is really coming back into fine form with a rod average of 5.6. There are lots of fine Rainbows patrolling the weedbeds and margins feeding on fry, shrimp and snails.

These fish are in great condition and there are plenty in the 4lb plus class. One of our season ticket holders fished the bank on Saturday morning in the wind and had 17 fish; fishing fry and shrimp patterns around the weedbeds. His best fish was around 6lb with several others over 4lb. Another of our regular anglers caught and returned 18 fish.

The boat action has also improved with the main basin coming on form again.

With the weather now cooling expect the fishing to improve further with fish coming around the weedbeds and margins for the abundant food.

Best Rainbow: 6lb plus.

Beginners Courses: 10 & 19 September; 3,9 & 31 October; 7 November. To book a place please call the lodge on 01604 781350.
