Pitsford Water Week Ending 29th September 2024

Rod Average - 2.0

Pitsford remains moody. The locals who are on the water daily are managing to catch fish both from the bank and boats but only in very specific areas and methods.

The majority of fish are being caught tight to the margins in only a couple of feet of water with even the resident Browns seeming to be close in feeding on Shrimp, Snail and Corixa.

We are also just starting to hear of the odd fish being taken on popper fry patterns but again this is around the weedbeds. One angler reported five Browns up to 6lb taken on this method.

There had been reports of an algae bloom across the water but the wind and rain seems to have cleared any colour in the water and visibility has been reported as good.

The best areas are still Sermons, Sailing Club, Cliffs and Narrows.
