Pitsford Water Week Ending 21st July 2024

Rod Average - 4.0

Pitsford is fishing well for the time of year with a rod average of 4 this week. Again the catch returns are showing that dry fly tactics are outfishing any other method.

Shuttlecock cdc's, Shipmans, Crippled Midge and F fly are all scoring well.
Washing line tactics are also working with hares ear/shrimp patterns and Pinfry immitations fished in the top couple of feet.

Some nice Browns have been reported this week with fish up to 7lb, while Rainbows up to 4lb have been common with the odd larger fish reported.

The best areas still seem to be the Main Bowl, X buoy, and the top end of the Narrows if boat fishing.

Best bank areas are Rigbys, Sermons and Holy tree areas but these areas are best first thing or last hour in the evening.

There is a further stocking expected in the next week which should stir things up.
