Pitsford Water week ending 21 June

Fish 452 (Season 2,508) Returns 56 (315) rod average 8.1 (7.96)

Pitsford continues to fish superbly with a rod average for the week of 8.1.

Both boat and bank anglers are enjoying good sport, but the bank does get more challenging in bright conditions, with the fish moving out into deeper water.

The main basin is holding a large number of quality fish and these fish are responding to various methods, including tubes and snails on sunk lines, nymphs and buzzers on tip lines, or even dries.

One of our anglers had a great day catching some quality fish. His four fish kill weighed an impressive 14lb 5oz with his two best fish coming in at 5lb and 4lb 8oz.  The best Brown of the week, caught and released, weighed 5lb. One of our season ticket holders had a good bank session with buzzers catching a 4lb Brown and a 22lb Pike.

The best bank areas are Gravels, Stone Barn, Sermons, Pitsford Creek and Cliffs.

Boat anglers should try Stone Barn the main basin and the dam. Methods still vary and include dries, buzzers and even snakes.

Fish are starting to feed on the pin fry now so crunchers fished on a floating line will account for some of them.

Best Rainbow: 5lb.

Best Brown: 5lb.

Best boat areas: Main bowl, dam, Brixworth Bay.

Best bank areas: Gravels, Sermons, Cliffs.
